Noah Baumbach

Noah Baumbach (born September 3, 1969) is an American filmmaker. He received Academy Award nominations for writing his films The Squid and the Whale (2005) and Marriage Story (2019), both of which he also directed, while the former garnered him one of the few screenwriters to ever sweep "The Big Four" critics awards: Los Angeles Film Critics Association, National Board of Review, New York Film Critics Circle, and National Society of Film Critics. He has written and directed a number of other films, including Margot at the Wedding (2007), While We're Young (2014), and The Meyerowitz Stories (2017). He is also known for his collaborations with his partner Greta Gerwig in Greenberg (2010), Frances Ha (2013), Mistress America (2015), and White Noise (2022), as well as with Wes Anderson, co-writing The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004), and Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009).
