Therese Lindgren
Therése Lindgren, born on February 15, 1987, in Nynäshamn, Sweden, is a Swedish vlogger, influencer, entrepreneur, and author. She began her YouTube career in 2013 and became one of Sweden’s most influential digital creators. By 2021, she had over a million subscribers on YouTube and Instagram. According to Medieakademin’s Maktbarometern, she was Sweden’s second most powerful YouTuber in 2020 and 2021. Lindgren grew up in Nynäshamn and studied social sciences in high school before taking a course in experience design in Nyköping. She held various jobs, including receptionist, cloakroom attendant, and waitress. While working in media sales, she experienced severe mental health struggles and was on sick leave twice. During this time, she found comfort in reading beauty blogs, which eventually inspired her to start her own.
Her interest in video editing led her to launch a YouTube channel in 2013. Initially focused on beauty content, her videos later included personal stories about her daily life, anxiety, and advocacy for animal rights. By spring 2015, she was earning a living from YouTube and related projects.
Lindgren was recognized as one of Sweden’s top communicators, ranking fifth on Resumé’s list of 150 Super Communicators in 2016. She won YouTuber of the Year at Guldtuben in 2015, 2016, and 2018, along with awards for Best Collaboration and Best Style. At Kristallen 2016, she was named Web TV Personality of the Year, the first-ever winner of the category. In 2017, the animal rights organization Djurens Rätt awarded her Guldråttan for her advocacy.
She authored Ibland mår jag inte så bra (2016), discussing her mental health journey, followed by Vem bryr sig? (2017), which focused on animal rights. She later launched Indy Beauty, a vegan skincare brand, and became a co-owner of CCS Healthcare.
Beyond YouTube, Lindgren has served as a board member of multiple companies, including Independent Beauty Sweden AB and ThereseLindgren AB. She voiced Spam in The Emoji Movie (2017) and interviewed political leaders Stefan Löfven and Ulf Kristersson ahead of the 2018 Swedish election as part of an initiative to encourage young voters.
In 2019, Medieakademin named her the most influential Swede on social media. Her YouTube channel became the first Swedish-language channel to surpass one million subscribers in November 2019. She consistently ranked in the top five in Maktbarometern, placing first in 2019. A 2021 survey by the Internet Foundation found her to be the most followed influencer among Swedish youth aged 8–19.
On July 2, 2020, she hosted Sommar i P1, where she spoke about panic attacks, fears, and control issues. In 2020, she also released Mitt bästa år: En bullet journal för att må bättre. In 2022, she co-wrote the discovery+ drama series Dumpad alongside Ebba Stymne and Sofia Jupither.
