Lucero Sánchez Novaro

Born in Mexico City in 1986, Lucero graduated with honors from Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC) as a filmmaker. She co-wrote Netflix's "Desenfrenadas" (2019), as well as "Todo va a estar bien" with La Corriente del Golfo for Netflix (2020), directed by Diego Luna. In 2020 she directed two episodes of the second season of "Rebelde" with Mr. Woo for Netflix. Lucero also directed a new young adult comedy for Netflix that will premier at the end of 2022. She adapted the Argentinian-Mexican HBO series "Amsterdam" by Gustavo Taretto (2022) and is in charge of HBO's hit show "High Maintenance" (Katja Blichfeld and Ben Sinclair) Mexican reboot. In 2022 she co-wrote, along Fernanda Eguiarte, a Romantic Comedy for Amazon Studios. Lucero is also developing several series and movies with different international companies as a writer, director and showrunner. Her short films, Miel (2011), Sangre de mi Sangre (2014) and Malva (2016), were part of the official selection of more than 70 international film festivals and earned several awards, as well as a Mexican Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences nomination for Best Fiction Short film. Lucero was the second unit director of the family movie "Tesoros" (2017), which premiered in the Berlinale.
