Joaquim Jordà i Català

Joaquim Jordà i Català ( Santa Coloma de Farners , August 9 , 1935 - Barcelona , ​​June 8 , 2006 ) was a Catalan film director , screenwriter and translator . He belongs to the School of Barcelona where he stands out for his film Dante is not only severe (1967) directed together with Jacinto Esteva . He is also recognized for his documentary film work with titles such as the cooperative film Numax presents... (1980), the award-winning Mones com la Becky (1999) or De Nens (2003). In 2000 he was awarded the National Cinema Award , granted by the Generalitat de Catalunya and in 2006 with the National Cinematography Award , granted by the Ministry of Culture of Spain . In 2004 he resumed Numax presents... , a film he had shot in 1979 at the initiative of the Workers' Assembly of the Númax appliance factory in Barcelona's Eixample . Twenty years are nothing , a new film that reunites those workers who self-managed the factory.
